Mystery Of the Pythagorean Theorem

Guys, the pythagorean theorem which we are using for almost everything now, has been identified earlier by a person called Bodhigar. He had mentioned it in his Poem. But it's not the same as Pythagoras did. It gives a different formula using which we can find the length of the hypotenuse side without using square roots.   hypotenuse side = a-(a/8) +b/2 where a and b are the other two side lengths.(a>b)

These are indeed great discoveries in very early periods. It's all quite fascinating when we go much deeper in Mathematics. Give your comments on this guys.
